Violence against women and girls intensification week

From the 6th to 12th March 2023, there is a week of intensification in relation to Violence against Women and Girls.

The week focuses on being proactive and working in partnership with other agencies to try and reduce VAWG.

West Yorkshire Police is committed to creating an environment where women and girls can feel safe and be safe within the county, free of fear and harassment.

Amongst other pieces of planned work for the week of intensification staff will be attending the following ward forums and contact points – 

Wednesday 5th March Sowerby Bridge Ward Forum 7pm St Pauls Methodist Church

Wednesday 5th March Luddendenfoot Ward Forum 6.30pm The Good Shepherd Church 

Thursday 6th Ryburn Ward Forum 6.30pm Stones Church  

Friday 7th ASB drop at The Space, Field Lane, Rastrick 10am 

Sunday 9th Contact Point at Brighouse Bus Station – Safer Travel PCSO Costa Smith 5pm 

We will also be engaged in night time economy patrols across the district this weekend to deploy our SWAN stands (safety of women at night) – please do come and say hello to staff.
