Opal’s Comet brings joy and cheer while passing through Elland

Opals comet at Elland Bridge

An amazing musical canal boat passed through Elland today bringing joy and cheer.

Hundreds of people enjoyed the delightful music as Opal’s Comet made its way from Salterhebble towards Brighouse. Dozens of people joined in the fun by dancing and wailing as the musicians on the boat sang and played their instruments.

The instruments included a synthetiser, cello and the star of the show was a large harp.

The experience was part of CultureDale – an initiative to promote arts and culture in Calderdale and more details can be found on https://www.facebook.com/MrWilsonsSecondLiners and https://www.facebook.com/culturedale2024
